Design...
At Wardour Workshops we have a wealth of experience working on a wide
range of projects: dining tables and occasional tables, oak bookcases,
director's desks, intricate jewelry boxes, high specification kitchens
and bathrooms. Sometimes the style is traditional, sometimes completely
contemporary. We enjoy the diversity and the rich variety reflects our
commitment to working closely with the client. Whatever your wishes and
requirements, we can pool your ideas with our own creative and technical
know-how to come up with a design with which you'll be truly happy.
Commissioning a piece of furniture is a straightforward and enjoyable
process. The first step is to meet, either at our workshop or in your
own home to discuss the piece - its form and function, its dimensions
and proportions, its intended environment, and the style and feel you're
looking for. The designer will discuss his ideas with you and show you
samples of timber and veneer to choose from. Following the meeting the
designer will produce preliminary sketches and a quotation for the cost
of making. For this service we charge a nominal design fee.
Assuming
you are satisfied with the design and price of the piece we then produce
final working drawings and a specification sheet, set a delivery date
and take a deposit from you. Depending on the size of the job, the whole
process should take about three months, and you are welcome during this
time to visit the workshop to see your piece of furniture being made.
